Because you have shared in our lives with your warmth and friendship, we invite you to stand beside us as we exchange our vows and begin our greatest adventure yet under the warm winter canopy of Guangzhou.
Born and raised in Xiguan, Guangzhou, April was a curious, adventurous little girl with big dreams of exploring the world. Fast-forward a few decades, her journey took her to San Francisco and beyond, where new cultures, friendships, design, art, music, and spirituality continued to shape her ever-evolving story.
Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, Steve filled his early years with hiking, cycling, computer programming, and music. Those childhood loves remained a constant through his adulthood, guiding a life of outdoor adventure, technical creation, music festivals, and saxophone playing.
In March of 2024, our journey began at the Envision Festival in Costa Rica, where we stayed in a jungle mansion with friends for a week of dancing, workshops, and waterfall adventures. On the second-to-last day of the festival, Steve took April’s hand by the sacred fire, and we joined our hearts.
In June of 2024, beneath a heart drawn across the San Francisco summer sky in Precita Park, Steve proposed to April with the words, “I think we should get married.” After a joyful moment of reflection, we chose to write the rest of our story as one.
In September of 2024, surrounded by our closest circle in a serene Marin County redwood grove, we held our private ceremonial union. April stepped into the moment amidst a whirlwind of nervous anticipation, choosing to trust this profound step of the heart with this wonderful man. Meanwhile, Steve stood filled with deep honor and joy, overjoyed to start a family and a future with the most luminous, thoughtful soul he had finally found.
We’ve prepared a very special day - a union of our respective worlds. The format will not follow standard Chinese or Western traditions. We deeply hope you will join all of the program, the banquet is not the only main event.
Fly into Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN). We recommend arriving at least a day early so you can settle in. The venue, JOYARD, is in Panyu district, which is 30 minutes from Guangzhou Center - ZhuJiang New Town. The nearest metro station is Xiajiao. You can always call a “Didi” (a Chinese Uber), which is an easy and affordable means of transportation.

Flying with a power bank that does not have a China 3C mark is not allowed. You may get into the country with one, but security can confiscate it when you fly domestically or when you fly back out.
